WHAT WE DO

CLOUD is a multidisciplinary practice based in Rotterdam, that focuses on architecture, research and design with a particular interest in the materiality of architecture.

Architecture has been critical in shaping the world we live in today. As the world changes, architecture of tomorrow needs to evolve in a radical new direction.

At CLOUD materiality -matter and meaning- is the starting point of designing viable solutions for a thriving future for society. By using architectural cues and expanding the potential of materiality in our work, we push the traditional realm of architecture through building communities, spaces and systems at all scales.

CLOUD was founded in 2022 by Paul Cournet. The studio currently works on a wide range of international projects with cultural institutions, brands, and private clients.

WHO WE ARE

Paul Cournet is an architect and editor based in Rotterdam. After working at OMA*AMO for over a decade, Paul founded CLOUD as a multidisciplinary practice working in architecture, research and design. Paul is currently also the deputy editor of Capsule the design publication, and the co-curator of Capsule Plaza, the design festival taking place in Milan during Salone Del Mobile.

Dora Jerbic Oliveira is a Croatian-Portuguese architect based in Rotterdam. She joined CLOUD in 2022. Previously, she worked within several practices in Zagreb, Graz, Lisbon and Rotterdam. With time, she developed a profound interest in detailing and materials in architecture.

Blise Orr is a multidisciplinary designer from Scotland. She is interested in the power of research in design with a focus on creative strategy and material development.

Anji Kobayashi is a Japanese architect based in Rotterdam. He obtained a master’s degree from TU Delft and has worked at multiple firms in Tokyo, gaining experience across various scales. He strives to create spatial narratives that engage both function and emotion.
